It’s National Volunteer Week: How TCB Get’s Involved!

Community is one of the pillars of our culture here at TCB Promotions.

We recognize that as a business; we have a social and ethical responsibility to do our part in bettering the world. Accordingly, we focus such efforts on our community right here in the Poconos and Lehigh Valley area.

TCB Promotions has been a Pocono Chamber of Commerce (PCC) partner for 10 years, providing numerous promotional products for events, incentives, giveaways, and many more exciting projects.

Our relationship extends beyond a business connection as our founder and president, Melissa Miller, sits on the board of the Pocono Chamber of Commerce and is a new member of the PCC Education Committee.

Melissa’s executive assistant, Jody Hutchinson, is the Co-Chair of the PCC Women in Business committee. And finally, two of our Sales and Marketing Coordinators, Brooke Bostic and Hannah Gallagher, were members of the PCC’s Pocono Leaders of Tomorrow committee.

Our community involvement doesn’t stop there! We also have a longstanding sponsorship relationship with the Valley Youth House in the Lehigh Valley, a non-profit organization focused on helping at-risk youth advance their futures. We have given back through Valley Youth House (VYH) in various ways over the years.

For example, in 2021, we ran a campaign where 1% of all orders placed in November were donated to VYH. This year, we’ve continued our sponsorship through their annual “Setting the Stage” event with a substantial donation, complimented by fun clip-on selfie lights.

We are uniquely passionate about supporting their mission as many of our team members have experienced troubles in their youth. It is an organization truly near and dear to all our hearts and it has been a genuinely rewarding experience for or entire staff.

Additionally, we partner with the Pocono Mountains United Way, running a program called Gift Every Giver where TCB creates, hosts, and provides tokens of gratitude to their donors. Each person who signs up for a monthly donation with the United Way will receive a gift paid for entirely by our company. The donations in turn go toward improving the health, education, and financial stability of our community.

Furthermore, as a women-owned business, we are continuously focused on supporting other minority-owned businesses. Being recognized by the Women in Business Enterprise National Council, the federal Small Business Administration, and the state of Pennsylvania as a certified women-owned small business allows us to be a part of and support a community of like-minded professionals, all dedicated to the growth and success of minority-owned businesses.

In line with our community-focused values, we are a proud Promotional Products Association International (PPAI) accredited organization.

Our environmental impact as an industry leader is of the utmost importance to us and our sustainability efforts are further guided by our sales and marketing departments’ Product Safety Aware Ambassadors, who we sponsored to complete PPAI’s Product Safety Aware Program.

To create a brighter future for our community and our planet, not only do we comply with all environmental regulations and laws, but we also actively work to reduce consumption, waste, and pollution by using the most efficient methods available to us in our industry.

We buy, sell, and use environmentally friendly products whenever possible. We are also very intentional in our company-wide efforts to facilitate the conservation of energy, water, and other natural resources.

In addition to encouraging our employees to reduce, reuse and recycle in our day-to-day office practices, we make it a point to do so with any leftover products or samples we may have, often donating these to local donation locations or at times, donating these to current non-profit partners like Valley Youth House.

Our staff gets involved outside of work as well. Marketing Assistant, Natalie Irula, is involved with the American Civil Liberties Union and provides Spanish translation with The Advocates for Human Rights. Our president, Melissa, also volunteers as a bible teacher for her church in addition to her work with the Pocono Chamber.
